Over 15 years of experience in producing earlier versions of this device - our original START 1000 Classic Swim Meet Starter System and its successor, the START 1000 Lite Handheld Starter - have led to this new product.

Side-emitting LED Strobe - Ultra-bright 360° LED optical strobe used in this system has been designed, tested, and fabricated in our own manufacturing facility.
- Strobe emits simultaneous cyan (teal green) and orange-red light emitting diode (LED) pulses to highlight the visible starting signal.
- Green pulse - one of the most brilliant wavelength available in today's LED market - provides outstanding visibility in indoor facilities at any time of the day and in outdoor facilities during early morning, late afternoon, and evening hours when the background sky often displays a distinctive orange-red color.
- The orange-red LED pulse overrides and dominates output of the LED strobe in the middle of the day when intense light scattered from the bright blue noontime sky can wash out the green flash.
- Powerful side-emitting LED diodes used as the optical strobe for this system are mounted inside a light-diffusing cylinder surrounded by a protective lens for eye safety.
